Cleansers do just that, they clean your skin, they remove dirt, impurities and particulate matter from the surface of our skin as well as help to shed dead skin cells. The topmost surface of our skin is made up of dead skin cells covering the active skin cells just below. These dead skin cells serve a purpose they make us waterproof and keep out infection and bacteria. When we cleanse our skin we are washing away dirt and debris that has accumulated. Whether you choose a cream or a gel cleanser is down to personal choice and your skin type. If all you want to do is clean your skin then any cleanser will do. But what about if you want more from your skin cleanser? Does you skin look dull, feel bumpy, have blackheads, have spots? Then that’s different and you need a cleanser that will start to help address these concerns.
If a cleanser cleanses your skin then what does a toner do? Well they are supposed to remove excess oil, close pores (after your cleanser has opened them and washed them clean) and sometimes remove dead skin cells. If your cleanser however has other ingredients in to address skin concerns then actually a toner may not be required.
